They abandoned the heal/tank/DPS Holy Trinity. Another reason this works (and another thing that makes Guild Wars 2 unique) is the Rally system. Once you run out of health youre knocked down, with
I would like to know, though (so I don't screw anything up later) if your choice of race has any impact on your choice of profession. In games like FFXI, there were slight stat differences, though those could be overcome (I was a Taru Dragoon); in others like WoW, you are actually limited to your professions sometimes based on your class.
Guild Wars 2 Discussion. Differences of Profession/Race combinations. I'm just talking visuals, not power creep. Ranger -- Have the different ranger races be able to tame pets unique to the race. Gojak_v3 11 years ago #2 I played LotRO for about 3 years. It is a very good MMO and is very well polished, but if you think this game has no players you are in for a big surprise there.

Asura always has the best animations. Charr usually runner-up. Human is best for roleplaying obv but has the most vanilla animations. If you are looking for flavor and uniqueness, play the non-humanoid races. If you are looking to identify with your character more closely you'll probably want to be a furless bookah.
In GW2 all races have the same stats. Few unique racial skills are deliberately weak/niche, so every race can do everything equally well and the choice can be based solely arround visuals/lore. Different models and animations for each race, but lot's of clipping issues with some of them. Different race specific starting areas and story lines
